How to turn any bank PDF into CSV

Three tools, three PDF types: text PDFs, scanned PDFs, password-protected PDFs. Here's the fastest path for each.

Bank PDFs come in three flavours: text-based (copy-paste works), scanned (image-only — needs OCR), and password-protected (encrypted at rest). Each needs a slightly different approach. Here's the fastest path for each — no tool switching.

Step-by-step

Step 1
Text-based PDF

Open in Adobe → Export → CSV, or upload to Convert Bank Statements. Text PDFs convert in under 5 seconds.

Step 2
Scanned PDF

Needs OCR. Convert Bank Statements OCRs and re-parses in one pass.

Step 3
Password-protected PDF

Enter the password in the Convert Bank Statements upload dialog — the password stays in your browser.

Step 4
Multi-page statement

Uploaded as one file; we merge pages and dedupe row headers.
