Convert CSV to QBO for QuickBooks Web Connect

Turn any bank CSV into a validated .qbo (Web Connect) file that QuickBooks Online and Desktop import via Bank Feeds — no bank connector needed.

Step 1

Upload your CSV (any column order, any delimiter).

Step 2

Confirm date, amount, description mapping and target account type (Checking/Savings/Credit Card).

Step 3

Download the .qbo and import via QuickBooks → Banking → File Upload → Browse.

About CSVQBO

QBO (Web Connect) is QuickBooks' preferred bank-feed format. Manually pasting a CSV into QBO's classic register is slow and loses categories on refresh. Our converter parses your CSV, generates the required <SIGNONMSGSRSV1>, <BANKMSGSRSV1>, FID/BID and <BANKTRANLIST> blocks, signs the file with a valid <FI> stanza, and emits a .qbo that QuickBooks accepts in one click — no 'file already exists' or 'invalid signature' errors.

Try it now — mapping wizard

Upload a small CSV sample and walk through column mapping, validation and preview before downloading — everything runs locally in your browser.

All parsing runs in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.

Every CSV conversion can also be exported directly to CSV, Excel (.xlsx), QuickBooks (.qbo) or OFX from the upload screen.

Why bookkeepers pick BankToBooks

  • Every transaction validated — dates, amounts, running balance reconciled before export.
  • Zero setup: no templates, no bank IDs, no fees — upload CSV, download QBO.
  • OCR handles scanned inputs when the source is a PDF, not just structured files.
  • Free tier: 3 conversions per day, 200 transactions per file. Paid plans: unlimited.

FAQs

Does this work with QuickBooks Online?

Yes. QuickBooks Online accepts .qbo Web Connect files via Banking → Upload from File.

Why do I need a QBO instead of importing CSV directly?

QuickBooks Online CSV import is limited to 3 or 4 columns and drops metadata. QBO preserves the FITID (so re-imports dedupe) and category hints.

What FID/BID does the file use?

We embed a generic Web Connect FID that QuickBooks accepts for uploaded files. No bank-side setup is required.
