Convert QFX to Excel — open Quicken files in any spreadsheet

Extract every transaction from a .qfx (Quicken Web Connect) file to a clean, formatted Excel workbook — with running balance, category and memo columns intact.

Step 1

Upload your .qfx file (export from Quicken → File → Export → Web Connect).

Step 2

Preview the parsed transactions in-browser.

Step 3

Download the .xlsx (or CSV / Google Sheets link).

About QFXExcel

QFX is Quicken's OFX-family format. It's compact for Quicken to import, but useless if you want to review, share, or audit the data in Excel or Google Sheets. Our converter parses the QFX's <BANKTRANLIST>, decodes FITIDs, and emits a formatted .xlsx with proper column types (dates as dates, amounts as currency), a running-balance formula column, and a summary sheet with total inflows, outflows and net change.

Sample input & output templates

Download a small working example on both sides so you can match your source file's format before uploading — the #1 cause of failed conversions is a source file with the wrong column order or delimiter.

Why bookkeepers pick BankToBooks

  • Every transaction validated — dates, amounts, running balance reconciled before export.
  • Zero setup: no templates, no bank IDs, no fees — upload QFX, download Excel.
  • OCR handles scanned inputs when the source is a PDF, not just structured files.
  • Free tier: 3 conversions per day, 200 transactions per file. Paid plans: unlimited.

FAQs

Does this work with password-protected QFX?

Yes. Enter the password locally in your browser — it's never uploaded or stored.

Can I merge multiple QFX files?

Yes — upload up to 20, we dedupe by FITID and produce a single consolidated workbook.

What about the running balance?

We compute a running balance column starting from the opening balance in the QFX header, then reconcile against the closing balance and flag any mismatch.
