Quicken / GnuCash / KMyMoney cluster

Convert CSV to QIF for Quicken, GnuCash and KMyMoney

Upload any bank CSV and download a clean .qif file that legacy Quicken, GnuCash, Moneydance and KMyMoney import in one click.

Step 1

Upload your CSV (comma, semicolon or tab-delimited).

Step 2

Confirm the column mapping — we auto-detect date, description, debit, credit and balance.

Step 3

Download the .qif and import into GnuCash → File → Import → Import QIF, or Quicken → File → Import → QIF.

About CSVQIF

Most banks now export CSV, but every open-source personal-finance tool (GnuCash, KMyMoney, HomeBank) and legacy Quicken (2004 and earlier) still expects the older QIF format. Our converter reads your CSV — any column order, any delimiter, any date format — normalises dates to MM/DD/YYYY or DD/MM/YYYY, and emits a QIF with the correct !Type:Bank header, valid D/T/P/M/N fields, and one ^ record terminator per transaction. No template setup required.

Sample input & output templates

Download a small working example on both sides so you can match your source file's format before uploading — the #1 cause of failed conversions is a source file with the wrong column order or delimiter.

FAQs

Does modern Quicken accept QIF for bank accounts?

No — Intuit dropped bank-account QIF import in Quicken 2005. Use QFX or QBO instead; we convert to both.

What date format does the QIF use?

MM/DD/YYYY by default. Toggle to DD/MM/YYYY in export options for European, Indian or Australian date conventions.

Can I convert multiple CSVs at once?

Yes — upload up to 20 files and we'll merge them into one QIF or emit one per file, your choice.
